"In 1947 and 1948, Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes in a wave of
terrorist attacks by armed Zionist paramilitary groups, whose goal was to establish the
Israeli state. These attacks included the infamous massacre in Deir Yassin, where 250
men, women, and children were killed. Such attacks forced more than 750,000 Palestinians
from their homes in more than 400 villages to allow for the creation of Israel on May 14, 1948
. . . As U.S. taxpayers, we have a crucial role in demanding that our government end all
military, economic, and political support to the colonial-settler state of Israel."
Map history of the colonization of Palestine( part 1, part 2)
"The Palestinian people are struggling against a systematic program of Israeli violence
designed to force them from their native land by whatever means the Israeli government
deems necessary. The Arabic word for this struggle is Intifada, or "casting off." For the
Palestinians, the Intifada means resistance to the bombing of their homes, the killing of their
children with rubber bullets and live rounds, the bulldozing of houses with families inside,
the uprooting of olive trees, the military seizure and illegal occupation of land, the building
of walls aroundcities, and the deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure and water
reserves."
